Local investment delivers more for your dairy levy Locally focused Regional Development Programs (RDP’s) and a network of Regional Coordinators are available to assist Victorian dairy farmers improve their farm business profitability. Regional Development Programs (RDP) Murray Dairy, GippsDairy and WestVic Dairy were established in the 1990s to cater for the varying requirements of each of Victoria’s dairy regions. While these RDPs receive funding and support from Dairy Australia, they are independent entities who act on what’s best for their region. Dairy Australia works in partnership with the RDPs to deliver services to farmers and also relies on the regional information gathered by the RDPs to assist in strategic planning and prioritising investment. 51 Livestock The key benefits to this process are: • Local knowledge helps RDPs and Dairy Australia deliver the best outcomes for farmers in their region. • Local RDP offices provide a range of services to farmers. • RDPs can attract funding from other sources, meaning more money available for the region. This leverage of levy funds is very significant.
