The Employment Handbook is kept up to date due to changes in legislation and a need to provide subscribers with value for money. Employment is a complex, confusing and rapidly changing area. The Employment Handbook is a useful tool that assists in simplifying some of those complexities. The Employment Handbook provides information on: • Industrial awards & wage rates • Right of entry guidelines • Work rights for backpackers/immigrants • Child employment • Superannuation • WorkCover • Occupational health and safety • Distinction between contractors and employees and much, much more. VFF members who subscribe to the Workplace Relations Membership receive updated wage information on a timely basis and notification when major changes to employment law and superannuation occur. Industrial training and seminars An effective way for farmers who employ labour to obtain information about their obligations is to attend a Workplace Relations employment seminar. Speakers are also available for branch and country meetings to talk about any aspects of industrial and employment law. In-house employment training tailored to the specific needs of the farm enterprise is available on a fee-for-service basis.
